alfred itael

As a child, I had always dreamed of being a football (soccer) player. Although I was raised as a humble farmer, I got an opportunity to pursue a degree in the United States – thanks to a soccer scholarship, my supportive friends, and a loving family. After 14 years in the States, my accomplishments exceeded my dreams. I earned my bachelor’s in Business from a well-respected private college. It allowed me to gain experience in the marketplace working as a manager for a Fortune 500 company, which in turn honed my marketing skills. In addition to these invaluable experiences, I was blessed with the chance to play and coach soccer on the semi-pro level. Eventually, the call of my homeland drew me back to my friends and family; and although I had made many new friends, I returned to Tanzania.  Instantly I was drawn back by the natural beauty and tranquility that Tanzania has to offer. I immediately got a job in the Serengeti at Ikoma Bush Camp. During this time, my creative mind and ambitions drove me to want to share my country with people like my friends back in the United States. Just like when you have visitors to your home, you want to show them the local sights, and allow them to experience a small piece of what life is like in your own well-known surroundings. I decided to start a tour company so I can share and enjoy what Tanzania has to offer, led by one who has spent considerable time both outside and inside this beautiful land.

desmond mwamba

I was born in Zambia and at the age of 12, my family moved to Tanzania where I spent my formative years before moving to the United States to attend college. I earned my Bachelor’s degree and subsequently found employment in the corporate world doing Accounting/Finance work. Even with these accomplishments, there has always been a call.

The call of Africa, its beauty, culture, people, and wildlife is one that has and will always be inescapable. Never was the call louder and clearer than the summer of 2018 when I took my wife back to Tanzania and we embarked on a two-week journey, enjoying the wildlife and nature of mainland Tanzania, while also taking on the serenity and beauty of the Zanzibar beaches and the island’s culture. All those childhood memories of growing up amongst this beauty and culture came rushing back. When Alfred reached out and asked me to partner with him, so we could bring the beauty and culture of Tanzania to the wider world through Alfred Safaris, I said yes! We are both passionate about Africa, its beauty, and culture, but most importantly, we are lifelong friends.

Kanaeli kanuya

My name is Kaanaeli Kanuya, I used to work at Ikoma Bush Camp as a walking and night game guide for 7 years. During this time, I learned a lot about wildlife and nature of which I shared my experience and love of the outdoors to the different tourists and visitors at our camp. Luckily for me, one of our guests sponsored me and I got the opportunity to study at the College of African Wildlife Management (Mweka) for 2 years studying tourism, wildlife, and guiding. This world-recognized institution further equipped me with more knowledge and insight into wildlife and nature. After my studies, I returned to the Ikoma Bushcamp in the Serengeti where I met with Alfred who was then my General Manager. I soon found out that we both shared similar visions and love for nature as well as football (soccer). Soon afterward, I ventured into business and opened up a tour company and now work closely with Alfred to give the visitors and guests “A Lifetime Of Memories” with trips to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and more…

Amini Kweka

I was born on January 22nd, 1982 on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. As a child, I studied at Magereza Primary school in Moshi. For Secondary school, I studied at Arusha Meru Secondary school where I received my ‘O’ Level Certificate. Growing up I was intrigued by wildlife and thus, decided to study Wildlife Management at Pasiansi Wildlife Training Institute (PWTI). After the completion of my studies, I got a job as Park Ranger working for Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) in various parks. After several years working for TANAPA, I decided to work in the commercial sector and got a job as a tour guide for Karibu Africa Safaris in 2004. While I was guiding, I met with Alfred at the Ikoma Bushcamp where our clients frequently were hosted. We built a good relationship and since then I have been supporting and guiding with Alfred Safaris as well As Karibu Safari when needed. I have over 15 years experience in tour guiding with extensive knowledge of parks, wildlife, and animal behavior. I look forward to showing you Tanzania!

Hemedy Ally

Being born and raised on the foothills of Mt. Meru in Arusha, I was always intrigued by why so many people would come to Tanzania and go on Safari. After my first visit to the Serengeti National Park, it was abundantly clear. I was swept away by the beauty and awe of the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro, and all the parks I soon visited. Right then, I knew what I wanted to be – a guide.  When I met with Alfred Safaris and while at Future Stars, I realized that this is where I would like to be. Play some football, help the youth, and also enjoy the beauty of Tanzania. Teaming up with Alfred Safaris was a no-brainer. I get to guide and show the beauty of our country while enjoying life and doing what I like. As a guide, I also specialize in cultural activities, hiking, and tours off the beaten track. I look forward to showing you my homeland – Our Country – Tanzania… Karibu (Welcome).

We appreciate the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you and show our affection for our home Africa.
